Known from the lower Congo River just below Pool Malebo (=Stanley Pool), Pool Malebo, the middle Congo River, lower Kwilu, Kasai, Sankuru, Lukenie, lakes Mai Ndombe and Tumba, Ruki drainage (Ref. 52346), Itimbiri (Ref. 52346, 106290), Aruwimi, Lindi-Tshopo (Ref. 106290) and Wagenia Falls (Ref. 52346, 106245). Absent from the Ubangi system (Ref. 52346). Type locality of Pelmatochromis guentheri: 'some 50 miles south of Mangala' (Ref. 46697), which is probably close to, if not the same, as Monsembe (Ref. 52346). |
